As our Head of Engineering, you'll report to the Chief Technology Officer and will be responsible for setting the technology direction while ensuring that teams and technical capabilities evolve in line with our overall Global Flight Centre strategy.

Define the technical vision, strategy and roadmap in alignment with business stakeholders

Oversee all engineering operations and ensure that initiatives are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Manage the engineering team and ensure that team members are working effectively to deliver high-quality projects.

Hire, train, and develop engineering team members, ensuring that they have the skills and resources required to deliver their work.

Develop and implement engineering processes and procedures to improve efficiency, quality and security of engineering operations.

Partner with the business to understand customer and business needs and deliver products that meet those needs.

Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices and ensure that the engineering team is following these trends and best practices.

Ensure that the engineering team is following all relevant regulations and standards, including safety regulations and industry standards.

Manage the engineering budget, including setting budgets for individual initiatives and ensure that spending is within budgeted amounts.
Who you are...
-
Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or a related field or demonstrated equivalent experience.

At least five years of experience in engineering management, with experience managing teams of engineers and delivering high-quality products.

Strong understanding of engineering principles, including software engineering, product design and development.

Strong understanding of Agile principles and processes.

Experience as an engineer.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage teams.

Experience in developing and implementing engineering processes and procedures.

Ability to manage budgets and financial resources effectively.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
