About the Opportunity

Discova is looking for a Account Receivable Leader to join the team in Cancun, Mexico. The role of the Account Receivable Leader is to Look after receivables and payment transactions to be upheld by our clients to Discova Americas. Will need to maintain ledgers, oversee invoices, and bill processing, maintain spreadsheets and database of important information and uphold the company’s policies being the receivables accounting contact of the customers in all our Americas Destinations. This role will be the part of Global Finance Shared Service and support the organization to grow and achieve the strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that Tour Plan (Discova global system) agent rates correspond to contracted net rates of each client.
  • Raising and sending invoices to Customers. Issuing fiscal invoices of all Debtors and calculate month end provisions.
  • Oversee the processing and organizing of bills, records and invoices ensuring quality maintenance at every step.
  • Set regular weekly and monthly deadlines to process invoices and payment and other reports needed
  • Keeps track of all payment transactions to be upheld by the company’s clients.
  • In charge of collecting payments from clients for old debts and ensure they are done on time.
  • Oversee the processing of allocating cash receipts to booking reference in Tour Plan for Dominican Republic and Costa Rica.
  • Allocate cash receipts to booking reference numbers in Tour Plan for Mexico.
  • Provide AR reconciliation of the bank accounts and run AR ageing report.
  • Prepare reports of regular intervals (monthly, quarterly and annual) making forecasts on payment flow.
  • Prepare booking analysis per client and top ten services per wholesaler.
  • Reconcile AR subledger with GL 111100.  
  • Set up new debtors in Tour Plan
  • Manages the staff part of the accounts receivable department of the company.
  • Ensuring the AR team is working in the best capacity.
  • Constantly improvement in AR processes.

About you:
The Essentials:

  • A bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
  • One or more years of Account receivables experience.
  • Languages: Spanish and English

The Attributes:

  • Experience with leadership roles and display problem-solving capabilities.
  • Basic computer skills (MS Office)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with employees, superiors and customers.
  • Strong analytical and time management skills.
  • Good presentation skills.
  • Well planned, organized with keen attention to detail.
