Job Purpose

The Application & System Administrator (projects) is a multi-function hands on role, providing enterprise wide (within a Finance landscape) application administration and support of business-critical bespoke applications. Working closely with the Solution Architect, project members, Business users (globally), this role is responsible for the on-going monitoring, maintenance, configuration and support of key finance systems.


The role will be for a 12 month fixed term contract, based in our South Bank Brisbane office.

About the role:

Provide application management, support and administration

  • Application Support: Support clients, troubleshoot and diagnose functional and technical issues in the production environment. Identifies, logs and resolves complex application issues/errors pertaining to the Finance ecosystem: Applications include, but not limited to - Azure Service Bus, Logic and Function Apps, D365FO, Basware, and Abbyy Flexicapture
  • Application Registration: Coordinates and maintains application metadata such as user provisioning, configurations of application specific mapping tables and middleware components
  • Application Monitoring: Monitor the performance and operation of the systems, diagnose and address problems. Automate monitoring and routine processes by scripting, utilising logging, and analytical tools
  • Application Management: Follow ITIL Application Support methodology (utilising standard corporate tools to record change and problem activities for tracking purposes) to carry out incident management, and recommends revisions or changes based upon root cause analysis

Design and development of documentation around common issues, configuration processes and monitoring

  • Identify patterns in issues so that prioritisation can be put around fixing the root cause of problems
  • Where a problem cannot be addressed immediately, document and implement suggested work arounds
  • Accountable to management for the design, execution and improvement of the Incident Management process
  • Experience in establishing monitoring and alerting best practices to removed/reduce manual checks

Communication and continuous improvement

  • Work closely with development teams, architects, and project team members to drive continual service improvement
  • Provide input into the Microsoft Azure Resource usage costs to ensure we are managing cost
  • Effective in providing communication to business users advising of issues as they arise
  • Provide communications across the Project and Operations during major incidents and planned major releases
  • Risk assess high level solution design documentation for new products and systems as required, to ensure alignment with established standards

About you:

  • Demonstrated experience in supporting a Microsoft Azure integration Architecture
  • Experience with, or understanding of, financial systems including D365FO, Abbyy and Basware
  • Strong understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) and the ITIL best practice framework
  • Understanding of project delivery frameworks (Prince2, Agile)
  • Lead ITIL and ITSM process development including extensive experience with Incident, Problem, Change and Configuration Management
  • Technical experience in Operations / Integration / Application Support or Application Development utilising Azure Dev Ops, Jira, Excel, Service Now, Cherwell or other ITSM systems
  • Strong understanding of the travel or retail industry is desirable
  • Bachelor in IT or Computer Science, Certificate IV in System Administration / Azure Fundamentals or Administrator qualification
