The National Business Development Manager (BDM) plays a key role in driving B2B customer acquisition and revenue growth by securing and engaging high-potential prospects and managing key accounts. Focused on sales target results and collaboration with the internal Call Centre and CruiseHQ wider teams, as well as internal Flight Centre Travel Group selling brands and external independent agency groups. The BDM will aim to expand the travel agent portfolio, drive TTV growth, and increase profitability. The purpose of the role is to identify and secure profitable new accounts, nurture existing relationships, meet sales targets, and deliver solution-based outcomes to both prospective and current travel agent clients.
This role can be based out of our Sydney or Brisbane office
What you will be doing:
Identify and engage high-potential prospects to expand the travel agent portfolio.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing travel agents to foster loyalty and ensure continued business
Drive TTV growth and profitability through effective relationship management
Provide training to travel agents on the booking portal to optimise usability and improve booking efficiency
Work closely with the Call Centre team, internal CruiseHQ teams, and internal selling brands to ensure seamless communication and service delivery
Conduct market analysis to identify emerging trends, new business opportunities, and areas for growth
Act as the main point of contact for travel agents regarding product knowledge, and providing ongoing support, training, and updates on product offerings, promotions, and company initiatives
Act as the liaison between customers, website development teams, booking portal administrators, and offshore resources. Ensure accurate data collection and clear communication to keep projects on track and aligned with client expectations
Coordinate project timelines, manage customer expectations, and ensure timely delivery of white label websites. Handle contracts and agreements, ensuring all parties fulfill their obligations from initiation through to website launch and support
What you will bring to the role:
Minimum 3 years' experience in a Sales Manager or Business Development Manager role within the cruise industry
Demonstrated customer service experience
Experience working towards and achieving targets and KPI's in the cruise / travel sector
You are ambitious, highly motivated and an efficient organiser who gets back to queries in a timely manner
You have exceptional attention to detail, are good at problem solving and work well under pressure. You have strong attention to detail and the ability to work well with tight deadlines
Positive attitude and ability to work in a dynamic environment
Salesforce experience is advantageous
