About the Opportunity Discova is looking for a Country Accountant to join the team in Luang Prabang, Laos. The role of the Country Accountant is to provide simplicity, assurance & insights leading to asset protection and sustainable growth. Lead a team of passionate individuals who are there to ensure the business performs the best possible accounting practices at any given time.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain a working knowledge of statutes to ensure all financial information meets the necessary statutory and regulatory compliance standards, including liaising with tax consultants, auditors to ensure legislative requirements are met.
Ensure all legal documents filing (including licenses and leasing renewals)/ tax and fee payments/ statutory and audit report are met deadlines and contributes to ensuring effective tax planning is carried out.
Review company’s processes and promptly react with any areas containing high risk, fraud, and misconducts; develop recommendation and solutions and manage cashflow efficiently.
Prepare accurate financial and business reports required by Group and ensure deadlines are met. The reports include month-end reporting pack; budget/rolling forecast; mid-month & D1 forecast and other operational reports (such as salesforce report, products, and profit margin analysis; cost centre reports, product reports)
Monitor business changes (including projects, new company set up, changing in local registration, changing in company’s structure etc.). Assess and communicate the impact on Finance to direct line and dotted line
Co-ordinate with internal parties such as sales, reservations, accountants in other companies within the group, support to suit business needs from senior leaders and external parties such as bankers, suppliers, customers to ensure a smooth business run.
Ensure that what is meant to happen in the business does happen.
About you: The Essentials:
Minimum Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in finance.
Good knowledge of local tax regulations.
Fluent in written and verbal English.
