The Village Leader is the development and support link between our stores and the Regional Leaders – responsible for the Flight Centre brand strategies to rejuvenate and grow. Using an entrepreneurial spirit balanced with a ‘one best way’ mentality, you will be empowered to ensure each store delivers an excellent customer experience, great sales results along with loyalty from customers and our people. You will actively develop the Team Leaders within your village, and create a support network, to give confidence and skill ensuring each business is thriving, happy and successful.

The Village Leader will achieve this by:

  • Leading by example – running their own successful business
  • Developing Team Leaders – using both one on ones and team leader meetings as a forum
  • Inspiring the Village – by tracking sales progress, delivering motivating KPIs, giving recognition and
  • feedback and creating incentives to drive a customer and sales focus
  • Being available to problem solve and act as a sounding board for Team Leaders
  • Building a community within the village for support, encouragement, learning and fun
  • Creating an environment where sharing best practice is encouraged with things like customer
  • engagement, LSM, team motivation
  • Working alongside the Regional Leaders to focus on the same goals and strategies

The Village Leader will be expected to:

  • Attend Village Leader meetings with their Regional Leader to gain direction, development and feedback – 1 per month
  • Run Team Leader meetings for their village – 2 per quarter
  • Run Team Leader one on ones within their village – 1 per quarter / per team leader
  • Assist in developing and delivering new recognition forums
  • Create and deliver motivating KPIs for the Flight Centre brand – 1 week per 2 months (rotation with all other village leaders)
  • Communicate expectations to Team Leaders around customer experience, atmosphere and attitude in the business and hold them accountable to achieving their plans and goals (along with the Regional Leaders)

The Village Leader will need to demonstrate:

  • Enthusiasm and passion for the business – our people and customers
  • Willingness to accept and drive change within the village
  • Excellent communication and coaching skill, using one on ones and team leader meetings as a forum for development
  • Great business acumen and an entrepreneurial spirit to help solve problems, give advice and guide
Criteria
  • Lead a team to a national ball award 
  • Minimum 2 years team leading whilst holding a senior leader role and/or been part of the senior leader development programme.
    Alternatively if you were not a senior leader or on catapult a minimum of 4 years TL experience required.
