Team Leader: FCM North America Bid Team
Do you think you have what it takes to take on a leadership role? The FCM Bid Team is looking for a new leader to help in the growth and development of the team!
Objective:
The Team Leader is responsible for leading a successful and high performing bid team based on company philosophies and standard systems. The team will create high-quality sales proposals which aid in winning and retaining corporate customers.
What you'll be doing:
Assisting team members when they need it, giving clear direction and good constructive feedback
Evaluate RFP’s based on viability of “right fit” for FCM
Support the sales and account management teams with strategy and execution of RFP responses
Reviewing second/final drafts from other team members for current, compelling content and checking for errors; providing constructive criticism on any areas that may need adjustment, working together to ensure a submission of the highest standard is achieved
Take on all essential tasks: reviewing and assigning new projects, reviewing/proofreading final drafts, assisting with any issues or questions from the team, and keeping records up to date
Collaborating with the sales team and VP of Sales on major team development projects including training, new initiatives, and team strategy
Identify, hire and train new staff as the team grows
Representing the bid team to other departments and regions, when required
Lead by example:
The TL must lead from the front. This means you have to be a top producer. It means being punctual, and setting the standards for conversion rates and KPIs. It means following systems so that your team members will follow them too. It means being aware of the message you send. People follow what they see you do, not what you say.
Discipline:
TL works with the team to make sure that what is meant to happen does happen:
Best practices and database systems are used according to One Best Way standards
Team calls are happening on schedule
1-on-1s are happening with every team member every month
Pipelines, targets, and conversions are being updated
TL in identifying problems that people may be having and help them overcome them.
You must be able to discuss the business with a critical eye and work together with the management team and collectively implement a solution. You must be able to support your Team and VP’s of sales in the decisions that are made.
Attributes/skills required:
Minimum of 2 year of bid/proposal experience within FCM
Proven sales ability with consistent conversion rate
Strong business writing, project management, proofreading and editing skills
The drive, determination and focus to co-lead a successful business
