Global Corporate Finance is currently a team of 5 located at South Bank head office within Flight Centre Travel Group Limited (FCTG).
The key focus of the team includes:
Leading the quarterly forecasting process across the Group, preparing analysis and reports for the Global CFO and Board
Maintaining the forecast system and future customisations
Focus on creating a transparent view of the current and future liquidity position of the FCTG and individual businesses and countries
Supporting FCTG’s M&A strategy through target identification, coordinating the deal team, financial due diligence and post-acquisition monitoring
Complete strategic market and comparable company benchmarking research, analysis and planning
The team works closely with the Global CFO, Australian finance community, regional and nation CFOs (ANZ, EMEA, Americas, Asia) and Global Expert Teams including treasury, global financial reporting, tax and legal. Work can involve international travel to visit new and existing businesses.
What You Will Be Doing:
Lead the quarterly 3-way forecast process across the Group, preparing analysis and reports for the Group CFO and Board
Work closely with the local CFO’s and finance teams to review forecasts and validate assumptions
Maintain the forecast system, liaising with Super Users across the Group to facilitate training and updates
Utilising forecasts to prepare trend and comparative analysis to drive business decisions
Support capital management decisions using forecasts and scenario analysis to understand the Group’s future liquidity position
Commercial support involving market research, financial analysis of new initiatives or review of existing businesses to provide insights into key business drivers and identify opportunities to improve
Developing business cases for new and existing opportunities capitalising on current competitive advantages
Benchmark and review competitor results and strategy to FCTG performance to provide useful insights to senior management and Board
Commercial support for Investor Relations
As and when required, assist in financial due diligence for acquisition opportunities considered by FCTG, liaising closely with operational sponsor, external advisors and FCTG Global Expert Teams. Responsibilities include assisting in the preparation of finance due diligence reports and acquisition board papers
Assist in post-acquisition reviews including a review of financial performance against forecast expectations, synergies realised and a critical review of the due diligence process
About You:
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Finance role post qualification
Relevant degree/qualification
CA/CPA completed
Intermediate to advanced Excel
Ability to work with large amounts of data in varying forms
Power BI experience an advantage
Develop structured approach and framework for resolving key business issues
Interpret financial management reports
Financial modelling experience
Strong accounting knowledge
Knowledge of travel industry and/or Flight Centre business would be beneficial
