About the opportunity:

Work with Contracting Managers in the delivery and support of the GPN product strategy with a key focus on strengthening commercial acumen, travel procurement experience and knowledge.

  • Ensuring that GPN direct product is competitive against our 3rd Party and marketplace competitors through manual competitiveness checks, procurement of all rate types, and referencing relevant data sets to make informed decisions.
  • Leveraging off available datasets, relationship with Contracting Managers and the cultivation of supplier relationships, work with Platinum & Gold partners to craft tactical offers to assist in driving volume and TTV
  • Support Contracting Managers with day-to-day operational tasks for Silver contracted suppliers
  • Provide feedback to wider business around barriers to competitiveness, escalating issues and offering viable problem solving strategies backed by examples


Position Requirements 

Problem solving and analysis

  • Develop structured approach and framework for resolving key business problems
  • Apply problem-solving frameworks and use appropriate analytical tools
  • Present clear recommendations to Product Managers

Stakeholder management

  • Seek input from stakeholders and respond to stakeholder queries
  • Clearly communicate business outcomes with Stakeholders

Travel Industry knowledge

  • Demonstrate detailed knowledge of travel industry and Flight Centre business
  • Extensive wholesale experience

Supplier management

  • Monitor supplier performance on a regular basis
  • Identify, communicate, and manage the resolution of issues with suppliers
  • Manage suppliers across multiple geographies and cultural environments

Negotiation skills

  • Build long-term relationships with negotiating partners

Systems knowledge

  • Computer literate (Calypso, MS Office)
  • Able to learn new systems quickly
  • Knowledge of Hotelhub, Gimmonix, Helio is desirable but not essential as training will be provided


Experience & Qualifications:

  • Extensive Wholesale Industry experience is required
