About the Opportunity

Flight Centre Travel Group is seeking 2 x Graduate Software Engineers to join our Corporate Technology team.

This is an opportunity to work within a dynamic project team in a complex environment providing software solutions and be responsible for key deliverables.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate understanding of development lifecycles, continuous delivery methodologies and tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and Review project plan and technical implementation detail
  • Lead the feature development of projects, enhancements and initiatives through coding
  • Ensure enhancements and bug fixes are made across applications
  • understanding of requirements, estimation and to deliver customer-focused outcomes
  • Continually challenge the way we deliver through innovation and industry best practice
  • Maintain compliance (security, coding) across systems
  • Develop quality work and conduct Project Knowledge Transfer sessions
  • Contribute to technical decisions and discussions
  • Collaborate with other teams to achieve goals
  • Conduct peer reviews and give constructive feedback
  • Participate in L3 escalations as required  
  • Contribute to codebase quality by writing unit, functional, integration and acceptance tests
  • Resolve technical issues and deliver working software
  • Maintains a strong understanding of modern software development practices
  • Actively participates in team Agile processes (Retros, sprint planning, etc.)

You will have:

  • Experience with most key technical competencies, including:
    • Java8
    • Git, Jenkins, Nexus
    • Agile practices, Confluence, Jira
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to build, maintain and grow strong relationships across multiple stakeholders
  • Business and commercial acumen
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Relevant tertiary/industry qualifications
