About the Opportunity – HR Advisor (with Injury Management focus)
An exciting opportunity has become available to join Flight Centre’s national HR team. This role will appeal to a motivated and highly driven HR Generalist who is looking to further their career within this exciting part of our global business. This HR Advisor role has a strong Employees Relations (ER) focus and will be responsible for driving the Injury Management (IM) function on a national level.
Based in the Brisbane Head Office at South Bank and reporting directly to the HR Operations Leader, the primary attention of this role is to provide proactive HR expertise and facilitate IM requirements for our people and leaders across Flight Centre Travel Group’s multiple brands and businesses. The role has an emphasis on coaching, developing and empowering business leaders on a variety of people-related matters. You will also work with the wider People+Culture team on key initiatives to improve employee engagement and retention.
Your knowledge and expertise mean you thrive on providing HR/IM advice and guidance to your businesses on policies, procedures and compliance requirements (such as employment contracts, Modern Award and EBA interpretation, and other relevant legislative instruments, Insurance and wage matters relating to physical and psychological workers compensation claims across each state). With a strong commercial focus and a real passion for people, you will effectively manage Injury claims, employee grievances, investigations, and conflict resolution processes within the business. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate practical experience in managing all HR/IM functions within a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Role requirements:
Minimum 1 - 3 years’ experience in a similar HR/ER/IM role
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build confident and effective relationships
Excellent communication and influencing skills
Sound commercial focus to resolving ER/IM matters
Knowledge of national and state-based employment legislation, including (but not limited to) Fair Work Act and Bullying legislation, Modern Awards, Discrimination and Privacy legislation, and OH&S legislation
Demonstrated experience in successfully coaching leaders through complex performance management
Capability to co-ordinate and conduct formal investigations
Ability to identify, develop and run appropriate development forums on key HR topics
Previous demonstrated experience in injury management, workplace rehabilitation, allied health and/or in a position with a strong return to work focus
Good knowledge of national and state-based workers compensation legislation
Demonstrated experience in successfully coaching leaders through the RTW process
Capability to conduct wage reconciliations
Excellent time management and organisational skills with the ability to work to deadlines
