We are looking for a Front End Software Engineer to join our small, but passionate team that is responsible for building and maintaining applications that enable hundreds of thousands of students to travel the world.

Who we are looking for

We’re looking for a talented Front End Software Engineer to join our data-driven Engineering team. You must be an optimistic problem solver and enjoy collaborating with teammates to design, build and iterate on software to meet clearly defined company objectives and solve real customer problems. You’ll need to feel at home in the fast paced world of travel tech, be comfortable in communicating in an unambiguous way and enjoy rolling up your sleeves and getting into the detail.

Your responsibilities:

  • Assisting in the design and implementation of StudentUniverse’s customer facing online user interface and user experience
  • Assisting in the design and implementation of StudentUniverse’s internal tools user interface and user experience
  • Determining feasibility of proposed solutions by evaluating problems, specifications and discussing with stakeholders
  • Demonstrating proposed front end solutions and designs by providing and presenting wireframes, diagrams and charts to team members.
  • Working with cross-functional departments like Product Design, Product Management, Data & Analytics etc to define and build the right solution based on the customer problem
  • Continuously approaching problems and opportunities with an optimistic and open minded view.
  • Act as a point of contact for technical issues for specific work streams within a project.
  • Building responsive, performant, and accessible web experiences that engage audiences
 

Must have skills:

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering or another related field
  • 1+ years of software engineering or software development experience, preferably in a related field
  • Experience working with modern tech stacks and knowledge of:  HTML, CSS, JQuery, AngularJS and Git
  • Experience with Adobe Design Suite
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
  • Fun, curious, and team player

This position may be performed remotely anywhere within the United States except the State of Colorado
