About the Opportunity
 
An opportunity is currently available for a driven individual to join the Global Treasury Payment Solutions team in a Payments Specialist role for 15 months while one of our valued team members takes parental leave.
 
Global Treasury manage the Group’s bank and debt relationships and are responsible for cash management, investment activities and managing the financial risks of the Group.  The Payment Solutions team are responsible for daily processing of supplier, Treasury and FX payments, implementation and management of Australian and Global payment systems, and improving payment systems, processes, security and controls, whilst maintaining a high level of customer service, support and response times (SLA).  The Payments Specialist role is responsible for the daily management of supplier, Treasury and FX payments, all related email queries and end of day payment system reconciliation and payment file processing.
 
About the Role:

Treasury Settlements, Payments Processing & Payment System Reconciliation

  • Ensure payment settlements/deals are communicated in a timely manner to the banks and confirmation is established prior to currency deadlines
  • Perform settlement tasks, including preparation and input of settlements into payment and Treasury systems, manage counterparty and SSIs post deal, match inward/outward confirmations
  • Efficient, timely and accurate processing of payments including Treasury settlements, FX payments, supplier payments, employee expense reimbursements and other payments as required
  • Responsible for the investigation/tracing/recalling of any payment queries and the reconciliation of rejected AUD and FX payments
  • Support the AU business with the centralised management of general related payments and queries made via the offshore AP Support team (Cognizant)
  • Manage end of day payment system reconciliations and payment file processing
  • Ensure payments are made in accordance with banking system daily cut-off times
  • Work closely with Treasury Operations to report daily cash movements

Customer Service

  • Manage team and payment system inboxes as per SLA
  • Respond to and resolve general payment queries via email and phone
  • Provide expert advice and support to the Australian business, CFO, Finance Team and Treasury on all transactional banking issues
  • Build rapport and be a strong relationship liaison with our bank stakeholders (eg Back Office and Payment Investigations teams)
  • Maintain a strong rapport with external payment providers and gateways

Control and Compliance Focus

  • Understand best practice Treasury control environment and actively recommend control improvement opportunities
  • Run audit reports and manage controls over data changes in payment systems
  • Maintain strict control environment with appropriate segregation of duties
  • Ensure process and procedures minimise risk of loss to FCTG and identify areas of risk to be mitigated
  • Ensure compliance with Global Treasury Policy

Innovation and Process Improvement

  • Create solutions to new payment challenges by applying financial, treasury and banking knowledge
  • Identify, recommend, and implement ongoing system and process improvements, efficiencies, and best practice operations
  • Actively challenge accepted operational wisdom across FCTG businesses

Team Support & Development

  • Provide support to other team members as required including offshore partners
  • Support and foster team environment and culture
  • Focus on own and other team members’ ongoing development and learning
  • Exceed behavioural expectations of the team
  • Accountability & ownership of own performance & meeting team expectations

About You

  • Minimum 2 years Treasury and/or Accounts Payable experience
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Relevant degree/qualification
  • Travel industry experience desirable
