Product Designer - UX/UI

 

What your day to day will look like:

  • Be an integral part of the product management team and work closely with product managers to define the product roadmap and design new product features.
  • Build an understanding of Umapped’s product architecture and distill it into intuitive interfaces and workflows that work cross-platform.
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, user flows, visual designs and other artifacts to support product development and enhancements.
  • Communicate clearly and present the UX experience to stakeholders and team members outlining the customer problem, vision, rationale, constraints and assumptions.
  • Work closely with software engineers to ensure design specifications are implemented to a high standard of polish.
  • Quickly iterate on design solutions and ideas based on feedback from peers, user research, and data learnings.
  • Lead UX research and usability testing to build a deep understanding of the needs of our users. • Collaborate with the customer success and account management teams to analyze user feedback and identify user experience improvements.
  • Define and enforce design standards including UI style guides, visual strategies, brand standards, and color palettes for a variety of initiatives across the team, such as support portals and email and web marketing.
  • Collaborate with global partners throughout Flight Centre Travel Group to design experiences for customers around the world.

Day to day, you will be:

  • Contributing to the definition and development of detailed customer experience designs from project inception, through to build and launch
  • Conducting user research activities including interviews, contextual enquiries, A/B testing, surveys, and metrics analysis
  • Contributing to the creation of UX deliverables including scenario mapping, user journeys and workflows, information architecture, wireframes, and interactive prototypes
  • Contributing to the design of Products that embody core user experience principles whilst balancing the needs of customers and the business
  • Planning and conducting face-to-face and remote usability studies of existing and proposed designs, and documenting recommendations for improvement
  • Conducting heuristic reviews of existing workflows and documenting recommendations for improvements.

You’ll be perfect in this role if you have

  • 3+ years’ experience as a UX/UI or Product Designer
  • Strong knowledge of user-centered design and design thinking methodologies and techniques
  • The ability to plan and conduct UX research
  • The ability to validate design decisions and concepts with data and user testing
  • Strong in foundational UI design
  • Experience using and contributing to a design system such as Google Material or similar
  • Experience working with wireframing/prototyping tools
  • Experience with mobile-first responsive design
  • Experience leading design workshops
  • Service Design experience is desired
