We are looking for a Technical Lead to provide day-to-day technical leadership of software engineering across our development team, spanning the full software development life cycle: analysis, design, build, test, release and support. This is a senior individual-contributor role for a versatile engineer who moves fluidly between building and maintaining the Azure infrastructure our systems run on and delivering hands-on full-stack engineering across portfolio of travel booking applications, with the balance shifting as our business rapidly evolves and expands internationally. You will hold autonomy over technical decisions for the team, working closely with the Head of Engineering, our Solution Architect, and the wider engineering group.

A day in the life:

  • Design, build, maintain and operate the Azure platform that underpins our current and future architecture (Infrastructure as code via bicep, landing zones, networking, Container Apps, API Management, Key Vault), delivering new functionality while also maintaining high availability and security.
  • Deliver hands-on full-stack engineering across our B2X applications built on a modern React/TypeScript front-end and .NET back-end, hosted on Azure
  • Build API integrations between our applications and our various internal and external platforms to deliver dynamic accommodation, air and inventory connectivity into booking systems.
  • Lead the team's adoption of agentic AI engineering tools (including but not limited to Claude Code, GitHub Copilot and GitHub Spec Kit), setting the standards and patterns for their effective use and mentoring others to raise capability
  • Provide technical leadership within agile teams, owning code quality through peer review and ensuring high-quality, secure, testable and maintainable code
  • Apply best practices for high performance, scalability and security, including PCI-compliant payment handling and data-privacy compliance across customer-facing systems
  • Collaborate closely with the Solution Architect to define and validate delivery and architectural standards, applying the agreed architecture as an engineering discipline
  • Stay across industry trends and continuously suggest process improvements to enhance team efficiency and software quality

Who you are:

  • Proven hands-on experience with design, build and operation of Azure infrastructure and microservices architecture in an enterprise environment. Industry certifications highly desirable.
  • Strong proficiency in agentic software engineering, utilising AI tools such as Claude Code to accelerate delivery in an enterprise environment
  • Strong proficiency in full-stack development (focus on .NET): RESTful APIs and modern web application frameworks, Entity Framework, relational databases, data modelling and SQL queries
  • Minimum 5 years professional experience as a Technical Lead or similar role, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality software products
  • Experience with git version control, and managing CI/CD pipelines and related tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Octopus Deploy)
  • Strong experience in agile software development methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban
  • Experience with DevOps, SRE and observability tooling and practices
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • Highly desirable: Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
  • Highly desirable: Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS
