Collaborating closely with the People and Culture Leader, this role is integral in crafting, curating, and executing innovative learning initiatives that resonate throughout our business. As a key driver of development, the Learning and Development Specialist takes charge in discovering new opportunities, cultivating cutting-edge programs, and delivering impactful learning experiences that empower our team members in every department. Leading our passionate L&D team, this role also plays a critical part in nurturing the evolution of our thriving learning community, ensuring each initiative aligns seamlessly with Ignite Travel’s values and the strategic vision charted by our People and Culture Leader.
A day in the life:
Development and Deployment of Learning Initiatives:
Support People and Culture Leader in developing and implementing tailored learning strategies
Ensure strategies align with Ignite Travel Group objectives and specific business area needs
Engage with Senior Leaders and L&D peers for timely delivery of key initiatives
Leadership and Management:
Provide direction, coaching, and support to team members for effective program delivery
Assign responsibilities, monitor performance, and foster collaboration for achieving goals
Quality Assurance:
Ensure high-quality content accuracy following process and design principles
Assess program effectiveness through feedback and evaluations; make improvements as needed
Collaboration Across Ignite Areas:
Collaborate with Product, Finance, Marketing, IT, Sales, and senior management
Ensure training aligns with broader business objectives and integrates across Ignite Travel
Maintain alignment with FCTG's overarching goals and strategies
Fostering a Learning Culture:
Promote a continuous learning culture within the team and organisation
Encourage recognition of continuous learning as a driver for career growth and success
Tracking and Reporting:
Support tracking progress of training initiatives and assess return on investment (ROI)
Who you are:
Experience in a Learning & Development environment, with at least 5 years in L&D performance consulting, instructional design and classroom/virtual facilitation
Experience in a FCTG or similar operational role with previous leadership skills
Skills in AI; Intermediate skills in MS Suite including SharePoint and PowerPoint, LMS, Video Production
Experience with graphic design programs such as Canva, Design Tools for Learning & Facilitation and design methodologies and tools supporting Learning and Facilitation & Development initiatives
Tertiary level qualification in relevant field (Qualification in Training and Assessment)
