Purpose:

 

The Management Accountant is responsible for financial control & reporting, tracking of financial performance and analysis of key metrics and results. Reporting to the General Manager- Finance, this role will function at both a strategic and operational level, supporting the business in deploying and delivering business strategies, whilst ensuring financial control, process improvement and change management are deeply embedded in everything we do.

This is a hands-on role that requires the individual to work through accounting processes, reconciliations and journal postings, ensuring these are accurate and timely, whilst enabling the business to scale up and continue to achieve long term sustainable growth. A focus in business improvement and assisting key projects will also be integral in being successful in this role. This onsite role will be based out of South Bank, QLD.

 

Primary Accountabilities & Objectives:

  • Prepare and analyse weekly cashflow forecasts
  • Assist the business in budgeting and forecasting
  • Develop and Maintain Standard Operating Procedures
  • Ability to understand, review and improve monthly processes
  • Support the annual audit, including creation of workpapers
  • Prepare and analyse monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Actively create and improve existing reporting, systems and processes 
  • Month-end accounting including reconciliations, journal posting and invoicing
  • Continuous process improvement to ensure the team remains in line with best practices
  • Variance analysis and provide commentary around actual results compared to budget and forecasts
  • Prepare and analyse monthly management reports, tracking financial and non-financial performance against agreed KPI’s, budgets and forecasts as well as trends
  • Work with Management Accounting and Transactional Finance Teams to ensure all group reporting deadlines are understood and met

 

Experience:

  • Ability to work independently and part of a team
  • CPA/CA qualified - Tertiary level education in accounting or similar
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a commercial environment
  • Ability to work in a dynamic & complex business environment
  • High degree of flexibility and ability to deal with change, growth and pressure
  • Business Central experience (beneficial but not essential); - High level of expertise in Microsoft Excel
  • Salary on offer: $100-110k Plus Super (based on experience)
