The Data Analyst is a pivotal role that leverages specialised data skills to assist the commercial team in accessing and interpreting information from databases. By utilising SQL queries and analytics tools, they ensure efficient data extraction and analysis, supporting strategic decision-making and contributing to the organisation's financial health and operational efficiency. This onsite role will be based in South Bank, QLD.
Primary Accountabilities & Objectives
Data Management
Extract, transform, and validate data from diverse databases
Ensure the integrity and consistency of data across systems
Reporting and Insights
Design, build, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards that deliver value-added insights and support our strategic objectives
Collaboration
Work closely with stakeholders across the organisation to understand data needs and deliver tailor-made solutions that drive significant value
Perform ad-hoc analysis as necessary to answer business questions and drive decisions
SQL Development:
Develop and optimize SQL scripts for more efficient data processing, contributing to our overall data management efficiency
Process Improvement:
Identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks in financial processes and leverage data analytical tools to recommend improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and productivity
Data Integrity:
Proactively manage and analyse data across platforms, identifying errors or anomalies
Develop, recommend, and implement robust processes to ensure data accuracy and reliability for reporting purposes
Experience
Proficient in Power BI, Power Query, and SQL
Minimum 2 years of post-graduation experience in a data analysis or related role
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into data-driven insights
Hands-on experience working with large datasets and building automated reports and dashboards
Effective communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Attention to detail and strong data validation skills
Salary on offer; $85-95k (excluding super) plus a potential 10% upside (based on experience and performance of the business)
