We are looking for a Business Development Manager (BDM) to drive new business sales across the Envoyage Network. The ideal candidate will implement strategies and cultivate relationships with key decision makers to create new sales opportunities through various channels such as networking, customer profiling, and local marketing/events. This role focuses on new business acquisition (70%), sales process (20%), and support and stick rate (10%), with clear performance metrics for each objective.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure the required number of appointments are achieved each month
Ensure meaningful customer connections/activity
Work with marketing team to assist with new lead generation
Ensure multi-level relationships are made and maintained in all prospect agencies
Build and leverage networks for opportunity and acquisition including development relationships with key suppliers and industry bodies, internally within FCTG and from existing agencies - deliver on referral targets
Understand market trends including competitor product offerings
Utilise Salesforce to record customer activity and management of opportunities to maintain data integrity
Qualify customers’ needs including commercials, product, and service requirements
Identify gaps and effectively counter issues or concerns
Understand competitor offerings including key Envoyage USA differentiators
Negotiate mutually agreeable outcomes whilst optimizing margin and profitability
Identify, co-ordinate & engage the necessary stakeholders
Support customer and internal stakeholders to successfully implement & transition customers demonstrating thorough communication
Develop a learning plan to support professional growth
Experience & Qualifications
Minimum 4 years in BDM role in the travel industry, resulting in established strong relationships with independent travel agents and agencies.
Consistent high performance in relation to reaching sales targets.
Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM.
Understanding of Travel Agency processes, and the travel supplier landscape
