The Data Engineer is a skilled professional responsible for design, development, and maintenance of data infrastructure, facilitating efficient and dependable data processing, storage, and retrieval.
Primary Accountabilities & Objectives:
Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines for extracting, transforming, and loading data from various sources into data lakes/lake house
Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with data governance policies
Build scalable and reliable data systems capable of handling large volumes of data
Create and implement data models to support business requirements and data analysis needs
Optimise data infrastructure and processes to improve data processing and query performance
Implement security measures to protect sensitive data and ensure data privacy and confidentiality
Troubleshoot data-related issues and provide solutions to maintain smooth data operations
Evaluate and recommend new data engineering technologies and tools to enhance data capabilities
Integrate data from multiple systems (internal & external) to provide a unified and consistent view of information
Support data-driven decision-making processes by ensuring data availability and accessibility in suitable formats for analytical and integration purposes
Collaborate with BI developers, data modelers, data scientists, infrastructure engineers, key business stakeholders, application teams, and technology partners to understand data requirements and provide necessary data assets
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role
A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
Added Advantage if you have knowledge of the following:
Azure DevOps
Experience with Azure cloud ETL tools
Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate
Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate
