About The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Lead HR Business Partner to join our team and provide hands-on HR support across Flight Centre Canada. This role is ideal for an experienced HR professional who thrives in employee relations and who enjoys working closely with leaders and employees to build a fair, consistent, and engaging workplace.

In this role, you’ll be a trusted advisor to leaders, helping them navigate complex people matters with confidence and sound judgment. You’ll manage a high-volume portfolio of employee relations cases, conduct impartial investigations, and coach leaders to strengthen performance and accountability across the business.

You’ll also support HR operations, from rolling out new processes and tools to driving compliance and change initiatives, while partnering with HR colleagues on broader programs such as compensation, benefits, and leadership development.

French language is preferred (due to some work in Quebec), but not essential.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational HR Delivery

    • Assist with day-to-day HR operations across Canada, monitoring and responding to employee and leader inquiry, proactively resolving people issues.
    • Support rollout and adoption of Workday HRIS, including manager/employee training, process updates, maintaining and updating system data
    • Assist with HR initiatives including policy updates, leadership development, and tasks or projects as needed

     Employee Relations and Support

    • Provide expert guidance to leaders and employees on performance management, policy, documentation, and compliance in line with company policy and legislative requirements.
    • Manage ER caseload from intake to resolution with clear SLAs and meticulous documentation and follow up.
    • Conduct impartial investigations (planning, interviewing, assessment/review, gather facts, report on findings, maintain documentation.
    • Track case progress and outcomes, identifying trends and recommending training or process improvements.
    • Coach leaders through complex employee relations cases, progressive discipline, and performance improvement.
    • Facilitate difficult conversations and influence fair, consistent, and defensible outcomes aligned to precedent and policy
    • Equip managers with toolkits, training, and conversation guides to handle people issues effectively.

    Change Management & Compliance

    • Provide assistance and guidance to leaders with the support of HR Leadership, during organizational changes.
    • Educate and coach leaders on process and policy, compliance, documentation, and other people-related business needs
    • Assist with documentation and administrative tasks as needed
    • Ensure HR practices and documentation meet provincial requirements
  • Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and accessible work environment where all Flighties feel welcomed, respected, and supported to thrive

 

Experience & Qualifications

  • 3–6 years of progressive HR experience with strong knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • 2–4 years of direct experience in employee relations, investigations, performance management, and leader coaching.
  • Proven ability to manage sensitive and complex people matters with discretion and sound judgment.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent written, verbal, and reporting skills.
  • Ability to influence, collaborate, and partner with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Comfortable balancing tactical HR delivery with strategic thinking.
  • Resilient, adaptable, and able to thrive in ambiguity.
  • French language skills preferred but not required.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of $90,000 - $95,000. Base salary is dependent on relevant factors, including experience, geographic location, and job requirements.
