About the Opportunity
Moneywise is expanding from our valued individual tax book of over 2,500 clients with a growing number of independent and distribution businesses across the Flight Centre Travel Group model and providing services to HNW Financial Advice clients. The Senior Advisor – Taxation and Accounting will support services to our current client base and acquire, implement and retain new clients more complex requirements.
Services in this growth model include trust and company set-up, assessing and proposing small business services in account reconciliation, AP/AR control, payroll processing and accounting offers, management and financial reporting, IAS, BAS, CGT, FBT, business tax advice and services, and Self-Managed Super Fund administration. We see the team growing as these services attract new clients.
We are a genuine, friendly team, shaped on the culture and philosophies of Flight Centre Travel Group. You will work closely with Moneywise operational and discipline leaders, build relationships with operational leaders across FCTG and high net worth clients, and work across functions to develop and build a valuable advice, tax and accounting offer.
In this role you will:
Engage with FCTG and Moneywise business leaders to develop a valuable service offering to independent travel agencies in the FCTG Group and their people
Engage with prospective clients to acquire business, with support of broader business leaders
Deliver services initially, then develop and build a team for profitable growth in this SME offering
Provide and manage traditional accounting services including annual financial statements, income tax returns, fringe benefits tax, business activity statements, taxable payments annual reporting and ASIC corporate governance
Provide advisory services including business structuring for tax effectiveness, asset protection and succession planning. You may also have the opportunity to demonstrate expertise on business valuations, small business CGT concessions and financial modelling
Manage bookkeeping services for regular bank reconciliations, payroll processing and other services as required
Prepare, review and lodge tax returns for individuals, trusts and businesses
Work with the Moneywise Financial Advice team for advancement and deployment of advice strategies for high-net-worth individuals
Manage new client onboarding and relationship management
Manage quality assurance processes to ensure best practice accounting principles and statutory compliance is in place at all times
You will do well in this role if you have:
CA/CPA qualification, ongoing CPD compliance, and Tax agent licence
5 years + experience, including public practice, with proven success in client onboarding, management, and leadership
High level competency in accounting platforms Xero, MYOB, Quickbooks, BGL and Access Handisoft and aptitude for learning new systems according to client requirements
Strong knowledge of Australian Taxation legislation, Codes of Practice, and General Accounting Principles
SMSF administration experience
Strong business acumen
An engaging customer service and team collaboration mindset
Great verbal and written communication skills
Initiative, high motivation and a passion for customer and business outcomes
Professional competency in Microsoft suite of tools including Outlook, Word, Power point and Sharepoint
