Our Travel Connect team within the Product Management & Engineering (PM&E) Leisure division is seeking a Software Engineer, Quality to join our collaborative engineering team.

In this role, you won't just test; you'll build. You'll work hand-in-hand with our development team, leveraging your engineering expertise to embed quality directly into the application lifecycle. This is an automation-first role where you'll contribute to the design, development, and implementation of our testing frameworks and infrastructure, ensuring our applications are top-tier.

Our Tech Stack:We build our applications using TypeScript, Vite, and React on the frontend, with Node.js powering our backend services. We leverage AWS extensively, utilizing services like Lambda, API Gateway, CloudFront, S3, and CloudWatch. For testing, we currently use Cypress and Jest for unit tests, with plans to migrate to Playwright and Vitest. Our CI/CD pipelines are built on GitHub Actions, and we utilize Splunk for log aggregation. You'll also have access to tools like GitHub Copilot to enhance your productivity.

 

What you'll do:

  • Design and Develop Test Automation: Engineer robust and scalable automated test solutions (unit, integration, API, and E2E) using our core tech stack, with a focus on TypeScript, Playwright, and Vitest.
  • Build Quality into the SDLC: Collaborate closely with software engineers to implement quality gates and strategies throughout the entire development lifecycle, from design to deployment.
  • Enhance Test Infrastructure: Contribute to the development and maintenance of our testing frameworks and tools, continuously improving our test coverage, efficiency, and reporting.
  • Drive Engineering Best Practices: Champion quality engineering principles and automation-first approaches, coaching and mentoring fellow engineers on advanced testing techniques and tools.
  • Troubleshoot and Optimize: Utilize observability tools like Splunk and CloudWatch to identify, diagnose, and resolve quality issues and performance bottlenecks.
  • Automate Everything: Beyond testing, look for opportunities to automate data preparation, environment setup, and other development processes to enhance overall engineering efficiency.
  • Collaborate and Innovate: Work within an agile team, contributing to architectural discussions and promoting a culture of continuous improvement in software quality.

You'll be perfect for this role if you have:

  • 3+ years of professional experience as a Software Engineer, with a strong focus on quality and test automation.
  • Deep programming expertise in JavaScript and TypeScript, with a proven ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
  • Hands-on experience building and maintaining automated test frameworks using modern JS-based tools like Cypress, Playwright, Jest, or Vitest.
  • Solid understanding and practical experience with AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, S3, CloudFront, and CloudWatch.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, including integrating automated tests and quality gates.
  • Familiarity with modern web development frameworks like React, Vite, and Node.js.
  • Experience with observability tools for logging and monitoring, such as Splunk.
  • A proactive, automation-first mindset with a strong desire to improve engineering efficiency and product quality.
  • Relevant education and/or equivalent professional experience in software engineering.
