Lead the heartbeat of our payables function. As AP Team Leader (Onshore), you’ll drive accuracy, efficiency, and compliance across end‑to‑end accounts payable operations. You’ll lead a high‑performing onshore team, partner seamlessly with offshore support, and work closely with internal stakeholders to resolve vendor issues, strengthen controls, and continuously improve processes. This is a hands‑on leadership role where precision, collaboration, and people leadership make a real business impact.

A day in the life:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the onshore AP team while supporting offshore operations and escalations
  • Own end‑to‑end accounts payable processes, ensuring timely, accurate payments and compliant controls
  • Monitor performance against OKRs and SLAs, providing coaching and feedback where required
  • Act as the key AP contact for internal stakeholders and suppliers, resolving issues and maintaining strong relationships
  • Oversee aged creditors, payment cycles, and vendor reconciliations
  • Drive continuous improvement, automation, and system enhancements across AP processes
  • Maintain AP SOPs and ensure consistent, best‑practice ways of working
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies, SOX controls, audit requirements, and fraud prevention standards
  • Deliver accurate AP reporting, metrics, and insights to senior leadership
  • Lead and support AP‑related projects, system implementations, and operational transitions
  • Partner with Finance, Technology, and Change teams to embed new processes into BAU operations

Who you are:

  • Strong leadership, coaching, team management skills and excellent communication and stakeholder engagement ability
  • End‑to‑end knowledge of Accounts Payable processes and financial controls
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g. Business Central, Xero) and AP automation tools
  • Advanced Excel skills with confidence in analysing and presenting data
  • High attention to detail with strong organisation and prioritisation skills
  • 3–5 years’ Accounts Payable experience, with 1–2 years in a leadership or supervisory role
  • Experience in shared services or multi‑location environments (offshore exposure desirable)
  • Strong understanding of reconciliations, payment platforms, and AP systems
  • Knowledge of compliance requirements including GST/VAT and audit processes
  • Certificate IV or Diploma in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or Business Administration (or equivalent)
  • Leadership, business, or finance qualifications highly regarded but not essential
