About The Opportunity

As our Social Media & Community Engagement Manager, you will be responsible for growing our social media presence and driving engagement through creative, student and youth-focused content. In this role, you'll not only strategize but also actively engage with similar brands and student creators, ensuring our brand is front and center in the student and youth travel space. You'll proactively interact with our audience and relevant communities, building connections that contribute to our booking funnel and increase flight bookings.

In this role, you'll also explore new ways to engage and grow the student community. You'll spearhead initiatives creating authentic relationships that amplify our presence and drive brand loyalty, like forming a Brand Ambassador Program. By finding innovative ways to engage students and 18-25 year olds both online and offline, you'll play a critical part in expanding our reach and strengthening our community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a social media strategy focused on increasing student engagement and driving flight bookings.
  • Proactively engage with student creators and similar brands on social media to increase visibility and grow our community.
  • Create engaging e-mail messaging and campaigns.
  • Build the business plan for a Brand Ambassador Program to create strong connections with student communities, then leverage it to drive engagement and sales.
  • Establish relationships with target groups (students, trade, alumni, etc) and brands to drive brand awareness and loyalty.
  • Create innovative content that resonates with our student audience and supports the booking funnel.
  • Monitor and manage incoming reviews on platforms like Sitejabber and Trustpilot, responding to feedback and addressing concerns.
  • Manage and respond to social media comments, fostering positive interactions and maintaining the brand’s voice.
  • Monitor and analyze social media performance metrics to optimize strategies and increase conversion rates.
  • Stay up-to-date on social media trends and student interests to ensure the brand remains relevant and engaging.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • A digital, social media native who lives and breathes social media.
  • Proven experience in social media management and community engagement, preferably within a youth-focused brand.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, especially TikTok and Instagram, and their respective best practices.
  • Excellent on-camera presence, with the ability to engage and entertain an audience.
  • High level of creativity and a sharp sense of humor.
  • Creative thinker with the ability to produce innovative and original ideas.
  • Go-getter and self-starter, as this role will require someone who can be proactive.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in launching or managing a brand ambassador program.
  • Familiarity with the student and youth market and its trends. 
  • Student travel market a bonus.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of $75,000. Base salary is dependent on relevant factors, including experience, geographic location, and job requirements.
