About The Opportunity
The Product Owner will be responsible for ensuring we are always offering the best fares at the right price to our customers. This role will require familiarity with fare structures and GDS (Sabre) tools, including both Agent tooling and API interfaces. Given the strong focus on exclusive flight deals for Students and Young Adults, this role will become the subject matter expert on GDS fare loading and auditing to ensure the fares negotiated are properly brought through the supply chain and displayed to the traveler.
Be responsible for the financial performance of ancillary products such as insurance and seats, and recommend product and operational improvements to drive incremental revenue.
Work with the marketing, pricing, supply and development teams to ensure the needs of the business are captured and documented appropriately, and to act as the first line of contact for product decisions (in partnership with subject matter experts) during development of new technology products and features across the StudentUniverse business.
Key Responsibilities
Work with the business to identify and quantify benefits of product enhancements.
Participate with our off-shore development teams across small, medium and large complexity initiatives.
Outline project briefs, prioritize product features and capabilities, define product roadmap, understand the market and develop competitive analysis.
Collaborate with the business to outline user journeys and business requirements, obtain customer validation through data analytics and user feedback. Drive continuous improvement to GDS content sourcing and display, using data analysis to identify areas of improvement.
Drive improvements to unit economics and performance for flights and ancillaries.
Scope and prioritize product backlog development related to GDS search and rate display as well as ancillaries
Perform regular rate audits on GDS content to validate proper rates are being returned and displayed
